I am using a mr5100 5g router/modem for my set up. This set up has worked fine for over 6 months with no problems. I decide to update to 2.0 and when the system comes up to login all of a sudden it thinks it’s not connected to the internet. Ok, I then try to delete install and run an older version of roon and it does the same thing.
I have not done any updates to the network settings nor the router. Btw, the Mac is connected via Ethernet.
I attach the Mac to a cable router and there is no problem but it states that the software has configured your network to work with the network.
WHAT DID IT CHANGE AND WHY ARE YOU CHANGING PEOPLES NETWORKS?
You should file this in @support because I’m not sure anyone will see it here.
Also, though I’m no networking expert, it sounds a bit funny. If you’re running on a Mac mini, can you open a browser on the mini and see the internet still? If pings / web pages work well, I’m not sure why Roon would have a tough time seeing the internet. I realize that’s not helpful, but I bet some of our experts in networking might have a better idea than me.
We didn’t change your network. It’s not within our abilities to do so. I suspect any message you saw did not say that the “software has configured your network to work with your network” and whatever it may have said was misunderstood, thus creating your perception here.
All of that said, we do see diagnostics information when we request it and I am seeing that your core is not online and that matches what you are saying. Often times this is resolved by powering down your router and core and then bringing them back up (router first). A connection can sometimes be interrupted and leave the previous connection in a bad state.
Please give this a try and let me know how things go.
The computer is online at all times. It is only ROON that thinks it is offline.
It has been running with no problems for just under a year with no problems. After the update to 2.0 or he attempt to update did it have these problems.
If you’re running MacOS 13, go to System ‘Settings → Network → Firewall → Options’ and check that Roon (and RoonAppliance if it’s running) are set to “Allow incoming connections”.
You do, but that doesn’t preclude the fact that something else might have changed other than the move from 1.8 to 2.0, e.g. your firewall settings. That said, it might not help at all, but it’s something worth checking.
The product info is here https://www.netgear.com/home/mobile-wifi/hotspots/mr5100/ The M1 Mac Mini is connected via Ethernet. I use an ipad Pro as a head and control for the system. The mac is connected to the audio system via Chord Qutest (USB) and RCA to amp.
I mean why would it not see that the computer is not online? When everything else sees it. This is at the login step. Nothing has changed and there was nothing added to the system or changed other than reinstalling the software. I reinstalled Audirvāna and it worked fine.
Yes…because it will not allow the Mac which is the core to not login. It thinks the Mac is not on the internet but it is and nothing has changed. This is why it is my belief that something changed in the software. No other software has a problem.
Apologies for the slow response. It appears you were somehow lost in the shuffle but that won’t happen again.
Your issue is so very odd. I can confirm again that your core is not being seen by Roon’s servers. If it is in fact an issue with the software, my next steps should eliminate that as a possibility.
I had mentioned this months ago and have all but abandoned ROON. Unfortunately I did not cancel my auto renew and now have another year of this problem.
I tried to load the app again and again the same thing. Something is wrong with your internet error. Though I can connect and run other apps with no problem. Of those Audirvana has no issue with my internet.
I cannot create a logfile as the app will not allow me to login to the program. I am open to any suggestions.
