Describe the issue

I can't connect to the Roon Rock Server from a Roon Remote app on a Macbook Pro. I just see the "Connect to Roon" screen, without it connecting. The Roon Rock server is running and available through a browser via the IP address. I also can connect via the Roon Remote app on my iPhone while on wireless, and connect while using cellular to Roon Arc.

I have reinstalled Roon Remote on the Mac, connected via ethernet cable as well as wifi, restarted the network, unplugged and restarted the network, but it just doesn't show up in the Roon app on the Macbook Pro.

Describe your network setup

The network here is a CenturyLink 1GB Fiber connection with 2 CenturyLink mesh pods on either end of the house.

Have you checked macOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network to make sure Roon has rights to talk to the local network?

Hello @Barry,

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

Please try to follow the suggestions provided by @DDPS and let us know the result. For the most part of the Roon users it resolves the issues with the access to the Roon server.

That was it! Roon was unchecked here. There are also 2 duplicate entries for Roon in this area, where hitting the toggle moves the switch for both of them And, curiously about 25 duplicate entries for Google Chrome as well, which looks very much like a bug in macOS.

I’m realizing now that this all started after I did the latest system update to macOS 15.4. I’d imagine that after whatever latest Roon update the usual pop-up notification for permissions to access the local network was accidentally denied.

Thank you for your help in getting this solved.

@DDPS did have the solution. Thanks all for your help!
