Manually Add New Device

My Roon stopped working with my Sim Moon 280D after five years of regular usage. 280D has latest firmware. Roon has latest software. Both are on the same network segment. There MUST be a way to add a device by IP address. Right?

There is no “manual” way to add devices by IP to Roon.

Check that the device and server are on the same network subnet (like 192.168.1.xxx). Make sure the 280D is seen on your network.

Check Roon settings/audio to see if it is there and enabled.

Reboot network, server device, and client devices.

Check firewall settings to make sure proper apps are allowed through.

Details of your setup wouls also help (network devices, wired/wireless, pcs, macs, etc)

In addition to the helpful suggestion from @bearFNF, I recommend disabling the WiFi connection on your device. This will help ensure that your device does not receive multiple IP addresses, which can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
