I’m wondering, if someone has experience in using longer hdmi cables with the x-spdif 2.
Somewhere I’ve read about max length 50 cm and then also about three meters.
My whish will be to use 4 - 5 meters. Any comments?
You want a long USB and short HDMI as the most viable compromise. But only if you absolutely have to.
Hi have Cayin idac6 mk2 and matrix x-spdif 2.in dop mode it is working but not in native so converter is not compatible.Would it be possible to make a hdmi according to the two different configuration of the two units?
Hello all,
I just got a matrix 2 to use with Roon with a Mac mini M1 USB to Matrix, and then i2s to a Denafrips Venus 2. The sound I am getting is a sign type of wave or garble when I try to find the correct settings on the Venus? Roon is set to convert to PCM. What am I doing wrong? Roon shows the Matrix as the output audio device?
Regards
Jeff
Can you adjust the pin settings for the HDMI on either device?
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I can cycle through the pin settings on the Venus. All I am getting is a garbled sound or sign wave.

The same for me : cracks and spurious noise (with Pontus II). I have lowered Roon output by 5dB but no difference on this point. I have not cycled all pin settings on Pontus nor Matrix (which is on PS Audio conf). Too much combinations…
Hello,
Yes not an easy process. I believe I went through all the PIN settings and still get garbled noise? Anybody with a Mac, Roon, Tidal, Qobuz, Matrix X2 i2s output to a Denafrips DAC please let me know what I am doing wrong. I play a track on Qobuz at a very low level and go through all the pin configs.

Jeff
Hi all when i connect external powersupply to the Matrix xspdif 2 converter the green light does not come on only when usb are connected.Am i doing something wrong?
In software (Roon) path is OK (upsampling, conversion etc.)? IF YES its OK, if not… I have this converter, so I try with external (works with USB only).
