Max sample rate

During the HQP trail periode I was able to play with a max sample rate from 384 kHz.

Now with the registered version my max is 192 kHz.

I play with Roon/Ropieee or HQP desktop/NAA. Both have 192 as max.

What could cause this limit. The dac is 384. Of cause also the desktop setting is 384.

Thank you!

Would need some more information about the OS in question, DAC in question and overall system setup.

But couple of things to check:

  1. Please check that your DAC is not the OS default audio output device
  2. Please check that your DAC is disabled in Roon Settings → Audio
  3. Please check that no other application is accessing your DAC simultaneously

And show screenshots of all your HQP settings

Hi Jussi and dabassgoesboomboom,

Thank you for your replay. After your initial questions I started to think en tried a few settings.

I use an Ian Canada mono dac hat with the reclocker Q7.

Configuring the HQP desktop the device shown is a:

It looks as if the Raspberri PI propagates a 1794 dac.

The HAT choosen in RopieeeXL is:

If I select in RXL the:

Then PCM 384K is possible.

Does this ring any bells to you.

I also noticed that SDM (DSD) doesn’t work.

And can you show screenshots of your HQP settings

Hi Dabasgoesboomboom,

The overlay (device tree snippet) you specify defines the chip(s) and it’s connections. Capabilities such as possible sample rates are usually defined by the chip driver. Although sometimes depend on clock speeds / divisors defined in the device tree.

Hi Jussi, Databas…,

The device choice in RopieeeXL solved the problem.

The ’ Audiophonics Sabre ES90…’ works fine with 384kHz.

The ‘Raspberry PI DAc (I2S)’ limits to 192kHz.

Thank you for your tips.

I actually have an interesting Pi HAT coming soon to try out.

It is supposed to handle DSD512 and PCM384kHz - and works with RoPieee according to Archimago review

Balanced output
