Hello,
My Sonictransport i7 (gen 1) has 8Gb memory card and I want it to extend to 16Gb. The current memory card is a Crucial DDR4 2400 Sodimm. Can I replace it voor 2 new memorycards 8Gb DDR4 2400 Sodimm or one 16Gb? Does it have to be a Crucial again or can I replace it for example a Corsair?
Have you any experience, any advice with this upgrade?
Thanks for answering.
Two options from my view point. Get a second 8gb stick identical to the original or get a 2 stick matched kit of the brand you prefer.
I too have the i7 sT. I have spoken to Andrew, and he said it was maxed out at 8 Gigs of Ram. Might have to upgrade to a new sT i7.
Cheers,
This probably means it has two 4 GB modules, so you can’t add any more without replacing existing memory. I can’t image any 64-bit based system only supporting a maximum of 8 GB unless the memory is soldered onto the board. Indeed, someone posted on the forum in 2017 that theirs had 32 GB (not sure if that was a Gen 1 though.)
@agilis can provide the definitive answer.
Saw on internet same module for more than €80,-, brrr…
That would be the end of the discussion or is it a sellers answer?
No it’s one, 8gb.
