Describe the issue

Roon app running on a Mac computer with an Meridian 218 end point connected using wifi. Everything has been fine for years. A few days ago, in the Audio settings, Roon tested devices: the M218 constantly disappears and reappears every 3 seconds—no way to play anything.

Describe your network setup

Computer and wifi repeater connected to the same network. From the wifi repeater to the M218, an ethernet connection

Hello @jagoras,

Thank you for the detailed report — the “appear / disappear every few seconds” behavior is almost always caused by an unstable network hop, especially when a Wi-Fi repeater is part of the chain.

To rule this out, could you please perform this test:

1. Temporarily remove the Wi-Fi repeater from the setup

Please connect your Meridian 218 directly to the main router (Ethernet), bypassing the repeater entirely.

2. Restart both devices

  • Restart your RoonServer (Mac)
  • Restart the Meridian 218

3. Check if the endpoint stays online

If the Meridian appears stable under Settings → Audio, try playing something.

If the issue still occurs

Please provide the exact timestamp (date + time) when the Meridian dropped again, so we can review the logs on our side.

This will help us determine whether the issue is purely network-related.

Thanks — we’ll take it from there once you’ve run the test.

Hey @jagoras,

We wanted to quickly check in and see if you were able to run through the above reply - let us know, thank you! :+1:

Hi Benjamin, Sorry for the delay on answering.

I resolved the issue. I just unplugged and plugged the wifi repeater and now everything seems to work fine.

Thank you for your help.

Hello @jagoras ,

Thanks for letting us know the issue is resolved by rebooting the repeater. Generally speaking, mesh-style units are more reliable from what we’ve seen, in case you have further issues with the repeater. Happy listening!

Thank you for the tip
