Metadata improver not working

Red triangle with exclamation point always present. Able to play music from Qobuz or personal library without difficulty. What to do?

Possibly irrelevant, should note that I am not able to get Roon ARC to work on this system either. Working on getting a fixed IP to hopefully remedy that.

MacStudio MacOS current version
Router is Linksys Velop MX4200C current version firmware
Server is Innuos Zenith SE directly hooked up to internet

Hi,

Check out this page from the Roon’s Help site …

Hope it helps you to resolve this issue, if not Roon’s support team will be along to help.

Thank you. Since none of the other issues are awry, looks like a DNS issue. A bit wary of changing this. Reminds me of when I would consult with an IT person in my office. They would “fix” something and then nothing else worked. Often days of work clearing the problems up. Hope this isn’t like that. Easy to state/do, not so easy to undo and, on top of that, no guarantee of success for the specific system being used. No mention of Mac OS etc.

BTW, there are no DNS settings available with Linksys mesh router I previously specified, so no go there.

Instructions for changing DNS settings can be found at Linksys Official Support - Configuring the DNS Settings of your Linksys Mesh system

If you make a note of the current settings before modifying them, they are easy to restore should the need arise.

Most kind of you. Thank you. Will getting a static IP, which I’m doing to try, yet again (been trying for > 1 y), to get Roon ARC going, contribute to resolving this Metadata Improver issue?

I doubt that a static ip address would alter anything in respect to your Metadata Improver issue.

It’s only impact would be on the ease with which you can set up port forwarding (expecially if you are currently on a CG-NAT service). Port forwarding is only used by Roon for ARC connectivity from outside of your local network.

Thank you again, Wade. I changed the DNS Settings as suggested in the Roon Labs Help Center article

and obtained a whirling circle of death, both before and after rebooting Roon, suggesting that this is not going to resolve the issue.

OK. I think that you are going to have to wait for Roon support staff on this (unless someone else has an idea and chips in in the mean time). I have never experienced this issue and have no experience in trying to resolve it. I only contributed because you seemed unaware of the ease with which DNS settings can be changed (and changed back) as suggested by the article linked by @Carl.

Roon support staff will get around to this support request when it reaches the top of the queue (it’s already in the queue). There are only a very few support staff so this may take a few days.

I rebooted my router, server, computer and entire house () and all is well for now. Thank you again. Most helpful.
