Thanks. The earlier suggestion to search for the album “Pictures Reframed” did the trick.
It’s a poorly designed interface where it isn’t clear what’s going to happen when you tap on the button. The user might not even be paying attention if they’re looking at a Qobuz album or their local copy. A single button with 4 states is simply bad UI design. It would help if Roon would show tooltip hints when hovering the mouse over an icon. There are many places on the screen where a tooltip would be helpful.
I still haven’t figured out how to unfavorite a Qobuz album on Roon.
This means the album isn’t currently favorited on Qobuz. Tapping on it adds the album to Qobuz favorites and changes the icon to #2 (heart outline)
This means the album is favorited on Qobuz. Tapping on it changes the icon to #3 (solid heart)
No idea what this means. The album is still favorited on Qobuz. Tapping on it changes the icon to #4 (slash)
No idea what this means. The album is still favorited on Qobuz. Tapping on it cycles the icon back to #2 (heart outline).
So I can keep cycling #2, #3, #4 but not get back to #1 (unfavorited state). I end up having to open the Qobuz app and unfavoriting the album there.
You’re talking about two entirely separate applications - the Qobuz app and the Roon app, and they have different meanings of what a “Favourite” is. That’s where the confusion lies. Each application interface has its own set of rules and meanings, which are entirely consistent in their own separate spaces.
As I said earlier, “favouriting” an album or track in the Qobuz app will add it into your Roon Library. Thus, removing it from your Roon Library has the effect of “unfavouriting” it in the Qobuz app.
Equally, adding a Qobuz album or track in Roon to your Roon Library will cause it to be marked as a favourite in the Qobuz app, while removing it from your library will cause it to be unmarked as a favourite in the Qobuz app.
Roon favourites and Qobuz favourites are not the same thing.
Items in your Roon Library can have three states:
- not favourited
- favourited
- banned.

Yes, understood. However, my main point is that it is a poorly designed and unintuitive user interface, even for Roon’s own notion of Favorite.
