I am not sure I have heard Sevendust. Right now I am sort of all over the place sorting new music purchases and updating playlists for my mobile stuff. I will give them a listen when done.
Part of my Sevendust collection.
Maybe try Time Travellers and Bonfire’s as a good introduction.?
I catalog all my physical media via Discogs.
Will do. Thanks!
Gave this one a listen and liked it.
Seeing as it was largely an acoustic album I was curious to try something heavier, so I went with this one.
Much heavier to be sure. I generally can only take short doses of the harsh vocals, death growl, cookie monster vocals (whatever you want to call it) but so far it is not overdone. I like it. Thanks.
From time to time, I’ll jump in here. There is more information here than I can handle.
In the last few days I have read quite a lot about Nightingale (Dan Swanö).
He can play (Prog)Rock, Death Metal, Black Metal (Diabolical Masquerate, older Katatonia). If you google him, you will find only a part of what he has already done.
There are a lot of albums, like “Slakthus Gamlby” by “Demiurg”.
Listen to the song: “World Burial”. The female vocals are great. It’s Marian Welman, who for me is musically the sister of Anekke van Giersbergen.
There are also projects like “Another Perfect Day”; which are really undergound. (I had to buy the physical CD directly from the label)
And since this is mainly about metal, it’s certainly no problem to show off a bit. Dan is actually a drummer. In most cases he is known as a singer, guitarist and producer.
An interesting fact is that as a lefty he just turns the right-handed guitar around and plays it that way (not like Jimmi Hendrix, who turns his strings around).
And last but not least he mastered the album of my last band. Absolutely cheap and unproblematic.
Black out the sun might be my least liked album of theirs…lol, Animosity or Seasons are pretty good for the heavier stuff imho
Demiurg: Slakthus Gamlby is excellent death metal album! I think I found it when I searched Rogga Johansson’s work. Rogga is also someone who have worked many projects, one of the latest I liked was his Entrance To The Otherwhere album in 2019.
Great info, will now check also those Dan Swanö works that I am not familiar with!
Kevin based on your posting all across the forums I have been listening to some Royal Hunt as I never knowingly listened to them before.
Very good heavy Rock/Metal and I will listen to some more… So you can stop now
I had never heard of them either, you can thank @ricgf for it.
I believe in spreading the love
@ricgf please consider yourself thanked.
An excellent share of house friendly Rock/Metal that everyone can enjoy
It’s just like being in Manchester right now here, pissing down with cold miserable rain. Not what I signed up for!
Well, it’s pouring rain right now; later it’s gonna snow here in Switzerland - talk about miserable weather.
Fortunately it stopped here about an hour ago but certainly not normal florida temperature atm, pretty cool evening.
No though!
Here is more information about the vocal switch for you:
Ah I see, a very recent change then.
He certainly fits the band well, cant really tell where Joe Lynn ends and Ronnie starts which is good indeed!
Thank you
Glad to be of any help.
About half way through Seasons now and I have to agree that it is a better album.
I had to pull this up real quick and check to see if it sounded familiar because I am losing track. It does not, so I guess I have more pretty girls to check out later.
Edit: Added to my buy list. Starting to think a crack habit would be cheaper than these forums.
