I have copied all music files from my NAS to the internal storage of my Grimm Audio MU1. This concerns a 1-on-1 copy. My music library doesn't change. Just the location of my music files has changed. In Roon settings, I now want to disable my NAS and enable the internal storage of the Grimm. This will likely cause Roon to scan all the files on the internal Grimm drive. What does this operation do to my library? I don't want any change to my library and I want albums appearing in exactly the same way and order as before. Is this what will happen when I disable the NAS and enable the Grimm internal storage, or am I overlooking something? Thank you!
Hi Bas,
Nothing will happen to your music files. Roon never changes anything in those music files. It will only analyse all the available music files, and will fill his own database with the information.
And the order of appearing will normally stay the same. The only possible difference will be if you select the sort order “Date added”, as all those file will have been added at the same moment.
If moving to a new core it’s best to follow Roons migration advicd if you want to maintain edits, play histories, dates added. This can be found in their knowledge base.
