I'm now getting ready to actually use roon. In 2 days the test version will be replaced by the full version I ordered.
I now for the fist time use it via the android app on a tablet. I'm missing almost all options like how to change metadata and/or instruct what info is shown when a track is played and also what info is show when tracks are displayed in the folders stored on the internal storage of my streamer? or in queue an so on...
Is this due to me using the test version? Will these features be available via android app once full version starts? when using test version on my pc so many more options where accessable. I'm quite irritated and wasn't even close on finding an answer on the forum.
thank you, christoph

The only full-featured Roon Remotes are the ones for desktop (MacOS, Windows). The tablet versions (iOS, Android - 8"+ screen) are almost the same as the desktop versions. For the cases you listed, there shouldn’t be any difference IIRC and sounds more like you’re using the phone version (< 8" screen) instead. Phones provide the most restricted Roon experience.
Roon’s architecture is based on a central server that holds your database (music metadata), manages your playback zones and remotes to view content and control playback. So if you change server settings or metadata this can affect all remotes, changes to remote settings will only affect the remote you made the change on.
As others have noted, the interface options are limited on a phone compared to a tablet/PC. It sounds like you’re on your way to making the appropriate changes on a bigger display, so I’ll go ahead and mark this thread for closure but should you require any further assistance please just let us know by unchecking the solution box or opening a new thread, thanks!
