Mojo Poly feedback

Continuing the discussion from :japanese_symbol_for_beginner:New and Need Advice:

I can only comment on the Mojo with Poly; things may be different with the Mojo 2.

First, the software, whilst much improved since I purchased the Poly, is still clunky, and could be much better.

Second, whilst it’s a great Roon endpoint, it doesn’t work with ARC, except using Bluetooth. Also, running MPD or DLNA locally is also clunky, and switching between modes a PITA. Nowadays, I use a TANCHJIM Space when travelling, and keep the Mojo Poly as my headphone setup only.

Finally, battery management is poor. When the Poly isn’t being used, the battery will deplete, rendering the unit useless because the Poly will only start charging once the Mojo has a full charge, even when power is connected.

Nowadays, there are many more options for travelling and in-the-home (a Raspberry Pi with power bank works well.).

I understand your points based on being paired with a Mojo. Issue with the Poly being charged is the same with the Mojo2.

I feel it’s a different story with the other aspects with a Mojo2.

The switching between Roon and DLNA is now seamless, which is due to one of the last updates several years ago for the Poly so I would have thought you would have had that update.

With the Mojo2 you have desktop mode. Mines on charge 24/7 :face_with_peeking_eye:

The app is dreadful, 100% agree.

Interesting little thing. I’ll check this out in more detail later :+1:

I’ll have to check that next time I use the Poly. Thanks.

It measures well, and the sound is excellent, too, and it works with the ARC bit-perfect beta driver.

Since it’s powered by a phone, it’s not going to drive all headphones, although a camera adaptor or similar may help here.
