Move data to new server

I hope you can help me here.

I had ubuntu server 16.04 with Roon. Today I install a new SSD with 20.04 and Roon. In the process, I have not touched the old ssd but I have forgotten to do a backup.

Is there a way to move the data to the new ROON?

Start old Roon Core, and backup old database to an external location (network drive, USB drive/stick). Then start new Roon Core, and restore database from external location.

That would be the easy way. But the old SSD is not bootable anymore.

You can try to copy the contents from the old database folder to the new one. If it works, great! If not, your lost without a backup of the DB or a way to start the old Core again.

Hello @Edwin_V,

I am so sorry we have missed your post entirely until today  . I am grateful that you’ve engaged on our community (thank you @DanielAvasilichioaei and @BlackJack  ) for your suggestions.

I was wondering if this is something you’d still need help with. It’d be our pleasure to help
