I downloaded and installed the latest MX-Stream firmware (1.081), as per exact instructions here:

Note that it appears there’s a Roon-related problem with this firmware version as a related issue has also been reported here:

I have the same issue with connection to Pro- Ject Stream Box s2 ultra as a bridge to ROON. Each software update of streambox make only worse to functionality. With first update i loose Native DSD scenarion at ROON setings (only DoP setting in streambox enables ROON DSD options with some limitations). Then, with the last update of streambox to v 1.081 ROON stops recognizing streambox as a bridge at all. No responce from PRO-JECT AUDIO support. No password to ssh @volumio, as streambox uses oem…

Waiting to hear back from Musical Fidelity. At the very least I hope I can get a copy of the previous firmware version from them as it appears it’s the latest firmware that gives this annoying issue.
