Hi!
I thought some of you might enjoy seeing my self-built stand for my RoPieee Roon Player
Basically it’s a RaspberryPie 4b with display, and a HifiBerry Digi2 Pro HAT, which was surprisingly easy to put together, install and get running. It’s all connected to my AdvanceAudio A7 amp with a coax cable (using the lovely internal DAC).
But then you end up with just a screen with a small computer bolted to the back. And even with a temporary stand that doesn’t look great, this just won’t do:
I decide to go a bit retro and mount the whole thing in an EP, so it fits in with the rest of my (analogue/Vinyl-focussed) audio set-up:
With a bit of tinkering with my Snapmaker (3D printing and Laser cutting, I have an older but very nice A250) and some nice open-source software (FreeCad, LibreCAD, PrusaSlicer) I ended up with this result, that I’m very happy with!
I anyone is interested to build the same, I’m happy to share my files, just drop me a line!
A few more images from the build and process:
(Prototype stand at the back, and the final version in front.)
(The other side, modeled in FreeCAD.)
(Last: the EP that lost it’s life in the process… It had a large hole cut in the middle with a 10W laser…)
