Dear
I could use Roon and Roon remote app well but I have had
problem with my roon remote.
I am using the same Network for Roon and Smartphone (Remote app). There is no firewall.
Can you tell me the reason?

Sounds somewhat similar to the issue I raised yesterday at:
Can you connect to the Roon Server manually by selecting āNeed help finding your Roon Server?ā, entering your Roon Server ip address and the selecting āScanā?
This worked for me as a āworkaroundā. It is not a fix, however. On at least one occasion, the fault has recurred without provocation (I can reproduce the fault at will be clearing the Roon app data on the Android device).
Yes. I got this issue yesterday night, too.
It is very strange
Sames issues here. @Wade: The workaround works for ONE Android phone (thanks!), but not for the others. Also on all my windows āremotesā all is working fine. Very strange behavior.
Hi,
Same strange problem.
Android 16, Google pixel 9a, Roon Rock and Synology NAS.
All is Ok and operational but the mobile app dont find the Rock server ā¦
Same issue here. I donāt know what happened with the last upgrade but i can no longer connect any of my Android devices to the server. PLEASE FIX THIS!
Have you tried restarting your server?
I donāt think that this was anything to do with the last upgrade to Roon Server or client applications.
Roon 2.52 (build 1538) Production was released 12 days ago and I have been using it on my server and all clients since it was released (or at least a few hours afterwards). I did not have any issues until yesterday.
For me, this happened to coincide with an upgrade from Android 15 to Android 16 on my phone and tablet and so I initially thought is was an Android 16 issue but I have since found it to affect my wifeās Android 15 phone and Android 11 tablet.
Restarted the server and rebooted the Windows box.
Still the remote (Android) will not log in
Just rebooted and restarted again and all seems to connect. This one can be closed
This one isnāt yours though.
It works as normal now.
Someone fixed it. I think
Same thing happened to me yesterday on only my wifi remotes => iphone and win laptop. Ethernet had no probs. I figured something updated or whatever and started a deep dive into my switches, the router, FW rules etc⦠No updates occured on any device.
Everything seemed in order, I rolled my eyes and thought here we goā¦
Then I saw this OP post this morning to start the āreconā and tried the
āNeed help finding your Roon Server?ā, entering your Roon Server ip address and the selecting āScanā?
Bingo! I donāt think Iāve ever had to do that, didnāt know about it. Thanks!
If you are referring to my post, I posted this as a workaround. Not a solution. At some point there is a good chance that the issue will recur.
I can make it recur on my phone by disconnecting the Roon Remote or by clearing the Roon app data on the phone. After either of these actions, the issue is back.
Yes I was referring to your post
I cannot remember this happening in my system. Now certainly I, like many, have changed server types/configs over the yrs (I think Iāve had 2 > Win Server OS then migrated to headless Ubuntu server) and have prob had a hiccup or two, but again I donāt ever recall out of the blue only the wifi remotes just āforgettingā where the server is
In my server (util room) > endpoint (hifi rack) config, I rarely use my phone for the control/remote, 99% Iām using the laptop.
When you say āby disconnecting the roon remoteā what is that referring to / how is that done?
Yes. Right
I worked around as you did. I also reinstalled Roon Kitā¦
Then I cleard all data in app and tried to login as the first loging in. I repeated many times but the success rate very low.
I have to remote to roon rock by using another PC . It is very inconvinence
Itās not āWiFiā remotes but āAndroidā remotes.
Both my phone and my tablet allow me to use the Dell 2.5Gbps USB Ethernet adaptor that I normally use with my laptop. The issue is the same irrespective of whether WiFi or Ethernet is used with these remotes.
Go to Roon ā Settings ā General. Then, at the top right of the section there is a ādisconnectā link. You can use this to disconnect the remote from the current Roon Server whilst leaving the server logged in to your Roon account.
You would do this, for example, to connect to a different Roon Server if you were lucky enough to have multiple servers with multiple subscriptions.
I just got it on my Samsung phone, Android 17. The issue came ever time I closed and then restarted the Roon app. Other tablets, computers can see an access both servers.
Normally if there is a discovery glitch, I could say select a different server and wait, usually that rescans the network and can connect. Not this time.
Putting in an IP in the āNeed help finding your Roon Serverā searches forever until I minimize the app and open it up again and either 1 or the other server is listed, not both.
I found that if I instead when Roon is searching for a server, go to the server web page, I can get the server to be seen if I restart RoonServer (not reboot the machine). I suspect that Roon has been tweaking the discovery protocols.
Gotcha, but just to clarify what I experienced. Both my iphone and win11 laptop are my āwifiā remotes. My wkst in my office is ethernet and had no issues. But my iphone and laptop are my remotes (wifi) had the issue
