Nice looking Accuphase gear you have there.

Many thanks @dabassgoesboomboom ! just doing my Zen meditation now, will stay with 128K direct to DAC with HQP. I’m grateful where I am
DSD128 works with macOS direct USB cable connection?
Can you show your macOS settings page, that works with DSD128?
I’m curious why macOS works but Linux doesn’t.
You tried DSD128 with DoP for NAA image?
The NAA image no DSD worked, the only NAA I used at 128 is ifi Streamer
Hmmm that doesn’t make sense.
If iFi Zen Stream works, NAA image should be at least as compatible.
Keep the RPi4 close! When Jussi reads these messages, he might have an idea to try things.
Keep the towel !
Roon is displaying something non-sensical here in first place. LNS15, PCM and DSD128 in the same thing…
When testing with RPi4, remember to set “SDM Pack” to “None”.
But does the playback start in SDM mode? if it does, then native DSD got detected. If the output rate is multiple of 44.1k then you should also get sound. If output rate is multiple of 48k, then it would be normal to not get sound.
Your screenshot doesn’t capture the checkboxes below Multicore DSP.
This at bottom
Tick adaptive output rate and try again
And SDM pack = none , as Jussi suggested
I ticked adaptive gray and full, turns to PCM and low volume. And when I try to play with DoP same as ifi Streamer no sound. The NAA of HQPlayer doesn’t work for Mac with Accuphase DAC-60.
Bad idea if DAC doesn’t support DSD at multiples of 48k as most don’t. That will make 48k base content unplayable or produce silence. Generally that selection doesn’t make sense with SDM output if 48k DSD is not also selected.
Do NOT do this!!
Who is the silly fool that suggested this !
Sorry, I was joking.
I am indeed the silly fool.
The one million dollar question, will a NAA running on windows make a difference? Does it talks ASIO to the DAC?
I know an Accpuhase user who runs DSD256 fine with ASIO
They tried Linux NAA OS without success but that was before kernel 5.15
I should ask them to try new NAA OS
I’m confused why macOS works for you but NAA OS doesn’t
NAA OS and macOS should naturally work the same when used with DoP…
