Endpoint:
NAD C399 with MDC module and current BlueOS firmware 4.10.11

Set up the C399 tonight and updated all firmware. In Roon Audio settings, under Roon Ready, the C399 shows up as “uncertified” and when I click on enable, I get the “unfortunately this manufacture has not yet certified…” message. Yet, on NAD and Roon’s website, it shows that it is. I tried an MDC hard reset and reboot of Roon server MacStudio. Nothing. I can connect through the AirPlay connection but that is sub-optimal. Help!
We have forwarded your question to the appropriate team and will let you know as soon as we have more information. The diagnostic data indicates that there is a discrepancy between how the device identifies itself and the information stored in our database.
Same problem here.
NAD C399 connected via LAN , Roon-Rock on NUC, worked until update to current BlueOS version, yesterday night. In adition all presets were lost. Dirac settings still exist.
I can connect through the AirPlay connection but this is not very reliable.
Informed my dealer waiting for an answer.
Thank you for contacting Roon Support and for your valuable feedback. I have enabled and reviewed the diagnostic data for your account, and it appears that the device ID has changed since the last update, as we can see that the previous model name does not contain spaces, and now this device, due to additional space in name is not recognized by Roon as Roon Ready.
At this point, I believe that performing a firmware rollback on the C399 may resolve the issue. However, I cannot confirm what solution will ultimately be implemented by the product team.
It’s possible that after rolling back the firmware, the issue may reappear if we make changes on our side. In that case, you might need to upgrade the firmware again. Alternatively, we may reach out to NAD and request that they revert the changes they made.
So, the decision is ultimately up to you at this point: wait for the updates or downgrade the NAD firmware.
I would not recommend making any changes to Roon due to this defect.
In my view, this issue falls under the responsibility of BluOS and/or NAD, and they should take the necessary steps to resolve it.
Forcing customers to roll back due to a minor glitch—especially when they are paying for Roon—is not a customer-friendly solution. I am currently waiting for BluOS/NAD to address the problem directly.
In the meantime, I’m able to use Roon via Chromecast on my TV, which is connected to the NAD C399 via optical link.
Home now listening to the Roon Ready audio device that now works. I am also extremely happy to report that another issue I was having - a clicking/popping every few seconds with the AirPlay C399 device - is now gone!
Thank you tech support for your quick solve. It is really appreciated. Nothing worse than getting a new audio toy you can’t listen too
