So I open a new one, as the situation has evolved. Windows PC on ARM becomes more and more common and often considered as the future of Windows. I just got a Samsung Book 4 Edge (Excellent PC). Roon remote kind of work in compatibility mode : very slow to open, after that all is OK and reasonably fast, but this is far from a good user experience.
So : Roon CAN run on ARM (I use it while typing this), the goal to run native does not seem too far, or is it ?
Note : to be honest, Roon opens much faster now on my Book 4 Edge, and the experience is correct. Maybe Windows automatically compiles or optimize it. But maybe having a native app is just a recompile away from Visual Studio ?
I’ve used up all my votes, but I want to add my support to this. It seems clear that Microsoft are going all in on using Snapdragon ARM architecture in their Surface line and other manufacturers are following suit to produce “CoPilot + PC” devices.
So I would like to see a native Roon on Windows ARM as well…
Any chance of a native ARM64 version of Roon for my surface laptop that is native ARM64? The remote runs via the x86 emulator but throws errors in the windows application log.
