Hi @chbehrendt,

Thank you for your post. The snippet you’ve shared shows a problem with UPnP autocofinguration of port forwarding, a process negotiated between RoonServer and the active router in your network.

The topology you’ve listed includes two routers - please ensure that you’ve either a) enabled UPnP in the settings administration page for both routers or b) placed one of the two routers in Bridge mode

If UPnP still fails to configure an open port, then you’ll need to enter the settings administration page again and create a manual TCP port forwarding rule pointing to the port and IP address listed in Roon Settings → ARC. Create this rule in both routers, if you haven’t bridged one.

At this point, if you’re still seeing a “Not Ready” indicator in Settings → ARC, you might need to resort to Tailscale instead of port forwarding. Here is an article outlining how to get started with Tailscale and ARC/Roon.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks!

Hi @chbehrendt,

We’re reaching out to ensure you’d seen the previous post. Please let us know if we can clarify any details about either port forwarding or Tailscale.

To summarize, your next step from here will depend on whether the router functions are active in both of the router units you’ve listed above (the ASUS unit likely has router functionality). You’ll have to first try to enable UPnP in both active routers - if that doesn’t work, create a manual port forwarding rule using the port number and IP address listed in Roon Settings → ARC. The rule should be identical in both routers. If asked, this rule should be TCP protocol.

Alternatively, you can just install Tailscale using the steps outlined at the link in my previous post.

This thread will close shortly without any response so please reach out if you require assistance from here. Thanks!

I confirm that I have received your original post with your suggestions. Thanks for the quick reply and the follow-up. I will follow your suggestions but do not have time yet to apply them.

Good day @chbehrendt !

Thanks for getting back to us.

We’re looking for your reply back with the results of your testing.

Regards.

Hi @chbehrendt,

In the event that you continue to have trouble with port forwarding, you can also use Tailscale as an alternative method for connecting with ARC on-the-go.

Here’s a help article with precise instructions for setting up the Tailscale interface pre-installed in RoonOS on your Nucleus One.

This thread will shortly automatically close without a response from the OP, but the steps in the posts above will resolve the port forwarding error. Please reach out in the meantime if we can clarify any details. Thanks!
