Have you tried the Platina using the Roon Ready connection yet? How complete is the integration? E.g. are volume settings coupled between Roon and the Platina, and how much of Roon info is displayed on the Platina’s screen?
Hi Geoff. Just tried on Roon this morning for the first time since it’s been Roon Ready. For the period it was uncertified I was using Tidal Connect or Qobuz Connect. On volume settings - My volume is always controlled by my amp, just the way I prefer it. No idea whether this is the best way, the recommended way, whatever - just the way I do it cos that way I don’t get any volume/speaker accidents lol.
Screenshot of Roon info attached. It’s not the biggest display ever, certainly a good bit smaller than previous streamers I’ve had - eg Cambridge Audio EXN100.

Are you able to do volume controle true the Roon app?
Looking at the Platina integrated amp (to replace my AVR 850), if volume controle would be possible that would be very nice and a reason to buy the streamer also.
Got a Chord Qutest DAC to partner with the Quad 3CDT transport. So out of curiousity thought I’d bypass the DAC in the Platina Stream and use the DAC in the Qutest for a contrast. After a couple of days I’m leaning towards the Qutest over the Platina, seems to have a bit more depth and detail but more forward than the Platina which has that warmer sound that I love about Quad. So depending on what type of music I’m listening to it’s literally just a quick change on my Quad 33 Pre Amp to switch between the two DACS. Lovely.
So I forked out for the Platina Integrated which means I’m 2/3rds of the way towards the full Platina set - the CDT should be released in about a months time apparently. This obviously means I have a crossover with the DAC’s due to both Stream and Integrated having the same DAC , but no matter it is what it is. The Chord Qutest is currently providing the DAC for the Quad 3CDT transport so not using the Platina Integrated DAC for that. The Integrated amp only came yesterday afternoon so not had too much time to blast a few tunes through the speakers and with it being just out of the box it’s far too early to review it fully. Last night though I played some songs through the headphone amp. First impressions are it is outstanding, and blows the headphone amp in the (new version) 33 pre amp out of the water. I’ve just hooked up my Rega P6 turntable this morning and again mightily impressed after just half an hour of playing some vinyl. Again it appears to be a big upgrade on the 33 pre.
Don’t know if anybody else has the Platina Integrated but it is wonderfully built, and feels totally premium. It also weighs an absolute ton!
