Description of Issue

I’m in my 14-days trial period. In one of the introductory videos on roon’s YouTube channel I saw that when you browse inside a specific Genre (R&B was the example on the video), you can see a section dedicated to New Releases for that particular genre. I have looked into many genres and haven’t found the aforementioned section.

Then in the Home Screen, I’m supposed to see New Releases based on my Library and listening habits. I can’t see that section either.

I’m including some screenshots from the YouTube video as a reference.

I see ‘new releases for you’ on both my home screen and in genre pages. I’m not aware there’s a way to turn those off. Maybe Roon takes a while to learn your types of music before those are filled. I’ve been using Roon for some years so can’t recall how quickly those populated.

Michael

Not 100% sure, but I believe these only appear when you are connected to a streaming service , either Qobuz/Tidal.

Maybe someoneelse can confirm/correct?

There are many things in Roon which only are there if you have a streaming service. Easy enough to check, just disable your streaming services. And, yes, I do not get that section when I turn off Qobuz.

I thought that might be the case but, my Library is there, my Tidal and Qobuz accounts arw there, so there’s enough data for suggestions.

I am connected to Tidal and Qobuz

Sorry, I overlooked that in your initial message.
Maybe, as Michael Curtis already suggested, Roon needs more time to get to know your taste.

For me this would be a very good reason to request a meaningfull extension of the trial period.

I don’t know if that is even possible

Can you try the following steps?

  1. Logout from Tidal and Qobuz in Roon
  2. Reboot Core
  3. Login to Tidal and Qobuz in Roon (once Core is up again)

Thanks.

Thank you. I will try this tomorrow when I’m back home

If you don’t ask for it, for sure you will not get it.

Ask at Rebecca?

Yes, she is responsible for Marketing (amongst others)
You can reach her at @beka

I just did this and the result is the same: New Releases section is not shown.

Using only streaming services and not a local library, this is one of the features I was more interested in. It’s a shame I don’t get it.

I believe that you should be seeing it, even if you are in the trial period. There may be something else amiss. I note that you seem to have your Core connected via wifi - Roon Labs recommend a wired connection for the Core. Can you try this?

I can, but I don’t believe this has anything to do with it.

Probably not, but worth a try?

Hey @Mauricio_Loaiza,

Ben with the support team here, @Geoff_Coupe is correct in that it’s always good to test out hardwiring your core directly to your router.

If the same issue occurs, let’s test out a fresh database. Steps to follow below:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Let me know if you’re able to see it on a fresh database. Thanks! :+1:

Thanks Benjamin, I followed your instructions step-by-step. After i reinstalled Roon, i logged in and still can’t see neither Daily Mixes nor New Releases.

Any other suggestions?

By the way, i did every step while hard wired to the router.
