New software WOW super fast 2.65 build 1653

Finally after several years the software is working again.

Searches seem much faster. let’s hope it carries on .

My question is why has it changed what have the ROON Developers done to make it work . What was wrong, why did it take so long?

10 posts were split to a new topic: My installation of Roon on my compatible Synology NAS failed

I still don’t see the update. Are they staggering the roll out?

See it now! Will update my nucleus one today

This update is wonderful, congrats team. I’m seeing much faster load and search times. I’d been struggling with the RAM ceiling of my old Sonictransporter i5 for ages, but the update seems to have created breathing room again. So many thoughtful improvements throughout, [oops] like the “improve” button on playlists [/oops]. Can’t wait to play around more.

On my old Mac mini with Intel processor it is also a lot faster. But we will see after some time

I’m now running Roon 2.65, and even during real-time DSD-to-PCM transcoding the system remains extremely stable. CPU usage stays low (around 15% average), I/O wait is basically zero, and memory usage is completely under control.

Honestly, Docker on QNAP performs noticeably better than the native QNAP package ever did: faster library scans, quicker searches, and much better overall responsiveness, even with a large library of about 5200 albums and roughly 11 TB of music.

At this point, for me, it is clearly the best solution.

Wow super fast, great

A pity that the “performing the music of Andy Taylor” field is still not updated….

We are slowly expanding the team and also started a more directed effort to modernize and improve performance. Expect more to come

I think it’s time I thanked the Roon team for their great work.
It’s you who make it so easy for me to enjoy music (food for the soul) in such a wonderful way—I look forward to it every single day!
Thank you so much!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I started up a free trial after canceling because a perceived lack of meaningful updates to give it a try. First impressions have been good and I would definitely take this kind of update over the lack of promised features if we had some more notice it was coming. Hats off to the team so far though this is a very meaningful update for me. Hopefully it frees up some time after the bugs are ironed out to implement some of the longstanding promised features.

Yes, noticeably snappier, good job well done!

Thanks to all the Roon team. Great job!

Despite my initial doubts about needing to upgrade a lot os stuff in my synology platform, the results are tremendous.

What a pleasure to enjoy a great system AGAIN, responsive and playing as one would dream.

Even Roon Arc that I had abandonned is back on my iPhone home screen.
