Off topic but does anyone know if this new Topping DAC would be okay to use with HQPlayer?
Its using 1 bit non IC and am curious if it can be used effectively what would be some mandatory or recommended settings in HQPlayer.

im interested in this DAC to acocmpany a Topping A90 discrete amp but am against it if it wouldnt work properly with hqplayer

OK, now I’ve done some measurements. Doing all is not possible, because the DAC misbehaves enough that some of the tests go broken. (latest firmware installed)
But I can tell that it is not a Direct DSD DAC, even though “DSD Bypass” is enabled which is supposed to turn it into one. Maybe this has AK4191 or some other similar chip as a front-end?
It is quite apparent from wideband measurements…
Sweep with 44.1k PCM input:
Sweep with 7th order modulator at DSD256:
Sweep with 5th order modulator at DSD256:
It all looks the same, while of course it shouldn’t!
