Here is an example. I had in my Library a « compare playlist » to compare different formats.
LIkewise I had three versions of Diana Krall’s song:
16/44 256 kb/s AAC
16/44 AIFF
24/96 AIFF
Following the recent update of Roon 1.4 I discover that in this playlist,
- the 16/44 AAC has been replaced by a duplicate AIFF
- when I play either of these two references the moving levels indicating playing are duplicated on both.
The exact same thing happens on the next tracks which are different versions of So What (Kind of Blue) so this is systematic to Roon 1.4
Likewise when I play anything on a playlist that is duplicated every instance lits up which is confusing, and this is a feature of the new version, before it did not do that.
So the move to the new version has modified my Library. TO me this is a bug - and an annoying one, that confuses versions that we want to separate, let alone for demo purpose.
I love Roon/HQplayer but it is me who defines exactly what is in my playlists, not Roon to modify the content.
Thanks to identify and solve this issue.
Best regards
Christian
PS: I listen on Mac Book Pro with latest High Sierra and HQplayer, streaming USB to a Neutron Star La Rosita 384/32 DAC. Sound is awesome, on a high-resolution finely tuned system - revealing very well the differences between different formats.
