I was hoping this would be added to the WiiM Ultra.

I’m waiting for this to be released and hoping someone will be able to answer if you can control Roon from the display, album art viewing, etc.

No you can’t. Only Roon app controls roon there isn’t a two way thing other than play pause or skip. Same on any device. The only ones that can are Android based that run the Roon remote app.
