· I keep getting the message 'No audio devices found' but everything on my home network seems to be working independently or separately. I have a Windows 11 PC. Everything else on Roon seems normal - I can see all albums and my Tidal service. I presume that the Manage audio devices tag won't work because there are no audio devices seen.
Thank you for reaching out to Roon support. Your Nucleus is reachable by everything in your house, which is why albums and Tidal work, but it cannot find any audio devices at all, including your Windows PC’s own outputs. Its logs show discovery messages failing to send 32 times and nothing ever coming back. That points at your network rather than at any one device.
Please work through these in order and tell us what you find.
What is in between. Is the Nucleus wired straight to the BT Smart Hub, or is there a switch, powerline adapter, Wi-Fi extender or mesh node in the path? Same question for your Windows PC. Please name the models.
Multicast settings. Roon finds devices using multicast, and some equipment blocks it. On the hub and on any switch, please look for IGMP Snooping, IGMP Proxying, Multicast Filtering, AP Isolation or Client Isolation. If you find IGMP Snooping or multicast filtering, please switch it off. If you find IGMP Proxying, please switch it on. Then restart the Nucleus and check. Restart in order. Hub first, wait for it to come fully up, then the Nucleus. Afterwards please confirm in the Nucleus web interface that its address starts with 192.168.1. and not 169.254. On 1 September it briefly fell back to a 169.254 address, and nothing can be discovered while that is the case.
If you have a plain switch, please plug the Nucleus and one other Roon device into it and see whether the missing zone appears. Working on a shared switch but not through the hub would tell us the hub is filtering.
Your dCS Rossini is affected by the same thing, so no need to look at it separately yet. If the zones have come back on their own, please let us know.
We have not heard back yet, so I wanted to check whether you had a chance to review any of the suggestions.
Your Windows 11 PC can still see your library and Tidal, but the “No audio devices found” message points to discovery not reaching any audio outputs on the network. We had asked you to look at the devices in between, any multicast settings such as IGMP Snooping, IGMP Proxying, Multicast Filtering, AP Isolation, or Client Isolation, and the IP address the Roon Server is using after a restart. Our Networking Best Practices article covers the network side of that check.
If the zones have come back on their own, please let us know.
