No Audio Devices Found (parasound halo)

Has been working fine for the last many months without issue. Suddenly now no audio devices are detected by roon, not even the onboard audio.

Have read through a number of similar threads but nothing concrete seems to have fixed this issue.
It appears to have happened after the last roon updated was applied (but could also have been a windows update around the same time.

Roon 1.5 build 334 (All-in-one install)
Lenovo laptop
Windows 10 x64 (Build 1803)

Chain:
laptop -> ifi nano iUSB3 -> Parasound Halo

Troubleshooting performed:

  • close all other audio apps in case they are taking exclusive control of the audio device
  • removed ifi nano USB from chain & plugged cable directly into laptop USB port (computer detects DAC correctly)
  • Disabled all other audio devices

Thanks for reaching out to us, @Andreas_kaestel!

So we can gain some additional insight into what you may be experiencing may I ask that you please verify the following:

  • Since noticing this behavior have you tried power cycling your Core machine?
  • Do you have any active antivirus or firewall on the Core machine? If so, please try disabling them and see if you notice any changes upon doing so.

If neither of the above yields positive results, I’d like to recommend a test. If you have another machine that you can run as a Core, install Roon there temporarily and try to use the iFi nano & Parasound Halo. Do you experience the same behavior on the other machine?

Thanks,
Dylan
