Roon 1.8 (build 1151) production 1x
Old MacBook Air Sierra (MacOS 10.12.6).
1.8GHz Intel Core i7 with 4GB RAM.
There is nothing on the computer but Roon and Firefox (browser).

Networking Gear & Setup Details

The computer is Ethernet hardwired.

Connected Audio Devices

Hegel H-190 amp, Roon Ready is also hardwired.

Description of Issue

Everything worked well until I returned from 2 weeks of travel. When I powered up my computer and amp to hear some music, Roon gives the message, “No Audio Devices Found”… [except ‘System Output’ and ‘Built-in Output’ – which are the tiny speakers in my computer… those work…]

I turned off the firewall as recommended, but that didn’t help. And of course I’ve rebooted my modem, router, computer, Roon, Hegel, all Ethernet switches – multiple times in different sequences. Still the same message.

The Hegel shows, in the small window on the front, that it is connected to the Network (it has a small check mark below th word, “Network.”)

Please help. It’s been a week and I miss Roon.

I take it that both the MacBook Air and Hegel are connected via ethernet to the same switch?

Can any other computer see the hegel on the network?

Yes the MacBook Air and Hegel are connected to the same switch.

I have never seen the hegel on other computers.

The Hegel’s small window indicates the Hegel is connected to the network (there’s a small check mark beneath the word, “Network.”

Can you find out what the IP numbers are for each. Everything has to be on the same subnet, and you should not be running any VPNs as that can interfere with device discovery.

Following up on this thread, I was able to take a look into your account and see that your Hegel H-190 has been connected and online with your core recently.

Are you still having issues? I’ll be monitoring this thread for your reply.

I think I can now use Roon because I changed the WiFi network on my Core. Unfortunately we have a Router and a Repeater (to strengthen the WiFi signal) and each device has it’s own Device name. Around the time I was playing with the different network names Roon came alive. The solution, probably. Thank you!
