No audio output from specific files via Roon while Audacity plays fine (ref#5KNCXP)

· I've checked the firewall and the issue remains

· Multiple output types are affected

· Firmware is up-to-date but the issue remains

Do you have an approximate timestamp of when the issue last occurred?

· I have no how to know the "timestamp"

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· SYnology -> Mac OSX

No audio from Roon player but Audacity plays the same files without a problem

I am not hearing audio output from a small number of files when played through my Roon Server / Roon players.

These files were originally encoded by “X Lossless Decoder 20130407, QuickTime 7.6.6” and work fine when played back using Audacity so I know there is nothing corrupt about the files. I’ve also imported them into iTunes/Apple Music and played back the files without a problem.

Describe your network setup

Roon Server (on SYnology) -> Mac OSX Roon client

Roon identifies these files correctly in the Roon Browser but produces No output when I attempt to play them using Roon (immediately gives the “Northing playing” message.)

I’ve attempted to transcode these into WAV format but Roon still doesn’t produce any output when I try to play back the WAV formatted files in Roon. (“Too many failures. Stopping playback”).

How do I diagnose the failures that Roon is getting and fix the issue in Roon?

In my first post about this issue, someone said I should look at Roon’s logs to see what it might be saying about the track.

Where do I find the Roon Logs??!!
