No local audio devices on MacBook Air

Issue: No local audio devices on MacBook Air (M2, 2022) - as an endpoint. Suddenly all local audio devices disappeared.

The server: MacMini 2012. Roon Server runs fine on this for years. No issue.

Suddenly all audio devices on MacBook Air (endpoint) disappeared. I can see audio devices connected to server and airplay devices, but can not play music on MacBook Air and connected audio card (SSL 2+ and Arturia AudioFuse Studio).

MacBook Air is on Sonoma 14.3.1 (latest) with Latest Roon.

I tried to wipe away Roon (with all settings as described how to remove roon topic) and install fresh. No luck.

The MacBook sound system is OK. All other aplications seem to work with SSL 2+ / AudioFuse Studio and other local audio devices.

Any ideas what goes wrong?

I would check that the Mac’s Firewall has the necessary exceptions for the Roon components.

As I asked earlier - have you checked your Firewall settings?

I’ve moved @Gabriele_Cannata’s posts into his own thread, because they were leading to confusion between his issue and yours.

No issues here on M2 Air Sonoma 14.3.1.
