No Sound Output Issue on Roon Core Installed on NUC (ref#4XF2AI)

What’s happening?

I'm having trouble playing music

OK...I am on a Roon Trial...I did have my Roon Core on my MAC running two volumio streaming devices. (Each streamer is independent of my iMac. A Rivo (in my living room for main system) and a Mercury Streamer (in my office for headphone listening). All 3 devices are on my network connected via ethernet. All was fantastic. I was so happy that decided to buy a NUC NUC11I7PAH (and load ROCK) to run my system and have gone thru the entire install process. (many hours for the 70-yr old MAC man! MANY! This kind of stuff is slow -going at my age:-)).... Right now, I only currently have my Rivo on the network as temporarily I am using my Mercury Streamer's ethernet cable to connect my NUC to my network. I will be moving the NUC another location once I get everything working. Since I am a MAC guy, this whole NUC/Intel Device does not work with my brain. ..but I have been extremely patient, and all has gone well after many false starts and technical difficulties (monitors, mice, keyboards...etc..etc..etc.).
OK...I have transferred my subscription from my MAC to the NUC (it is recognized). Did a new set-up. I installed the codec file etc. everything seems to be correct. If I go onto Roon on my iPad or iPhone it brings up Roon. I can see my new Roon Core as my account at the correct address. I can see my Rivo. My Rivo is on. My Qobuz is signed in and acknowledged...All appears like it did in my previous set-up when I had my Roon Core on my MAC computer. If I tell Roon to play music, it plays...all looks perfect, but I get no sound out of my system. Nothing. I am burned-out right now after working on this for 2 days...but I believe I have all of my settings in my system correct, no mute buttons on...sources correct...etc. Do you have any suggestions? Could this be the codecs by chance? I was not confident with what I was doing there...I am not a programer...:-) but I did open data, put the ffmpeg in the codecs file and the "missing codecs" error message went away... and I touched nothing in that data file other than what I just said. I am at a loss. I feel that possibly I am overlooking something very simple because I am fried right now. :-) Not sure. ....but everything that I see right now says that I should have music playing out of my main system in my living room via my Rivo.
I am going to walk away from this and maybe 2moro look over everything...I feel like I did all this work...everything appears correct, but I get no candy (sound). :-( ANY suggestions would be helpful at this point. My trial runs out in three days and I would like to fix this before paying for a year's subscription, as I want to make sure I can run Roon off of my NUC and get a music library started.
I hope that I gave you enough info...to help me.
Thanks.

(An addendum to all that I wrote above: I took a break and tested my system by turning off Roon..and opening my Volumio App. Chose my Rivo...and the Volumio Software interface plays just fine thru my system as it always has, just as expected. AND when I am using Roon and it says the music is playing (it's not) I can go into my Volumio account and Volumio shows that the same song is playing from Qobuz that Roon is playing. Yet there is no sound? I thought that this tidbit might be helpful to someone troubleshooting).
Thanks again.

Which zone is selected and playing, icon on lower right of the roon home page next to the speaker icon.

Hi Mike…Got that covered it says “Bob’s Rivo”.
I am hoping that it’s something simple but that’s not it…I don’t think? Thanks for trying to help. I think/hope that it might be something easy like that.

Hey Bob, happy to hear you found the issue. If the playing indicator was moving then something is happening somewhere. Usually for me its because of the zone selection. I didn’t think about the volume. Good catch.

Happy listening…

Mike…
I am THRILLED…Just installed my NUC where it will stay…I have everything up and running…I had the same issue in my office with that volume slider… but I knew right where to go…:+1:t3:
I put 2TBs of storage inside my NUC on a SATA Drive…I will want to eventually load some files on there and start a digital library…but that is another battle…for another day! Thanks again for your help!
