„now playing“ Info on Cambridge Audio CXN v2

Although this topic was touched briefly in previous postings, I didn‘t find a definitive confirmation.

So, will the CXN v2 display Cover Art and possibly other now playing Information on it‘s Front Panel when acting as ROON ready endpoint via LAN?

I don’t know about the CXN specifically but be aware that it’s up to the device, not Roon. So maybe the Cambridge support is the better place to ask. For instance, my Naim only displays the cover art with Roon, not other info from Roon’s „now playing“.

Definitely coverart, album title & artist. Will try, if time permits, to take a picture tomorrowl
Small display however, less quality than modern smartphone.

I have a CXN V2 and have it connected to my LAN via Ethernet. It always displays album art regardless of the source, Qobuz for me and my local FLAC library.

I must correct myself regarding the Naim, in case someone comes across this in the future:

  • It does display artist, album & track for a few seconds when an album starts, then it switches to showing just the album art.
  • It does this switch both with Roon and with Naim streaming.
  • The layout of the initial screen with the metadata differs between Roon and Naim streaming, but more or less the same info is there.
