A wonderful recording from the highly underrated Danish guitarist and band leader Pierre Dorge and featuring the equally great John Tchicai and Johnny Mbizo Dyani. Amazingly this recording is available on Tidal (but not on Qobuz). Highly recommended, as are all the fantastic Pierre Dorge and New Jungle Orchestra recordings.
A blend of jazz, electronica, global and spiritual jazz influences.

It’s actually DeJohnette’s Special Edition. Great sound and nice, lengthy playing times with plenty of space for the soloists to stretch out.
Recorded at McCabes Guitar Workshop, Santa Monica, CA, USA, on the 31st of October 1981. Jack DeJohnette on drums, Chico Freeman and John Purcell on saxes and reeds, and Peter Warren on bass.
Appears to be available on Qobuz but may be region dependent.
The trumpeter from Tel Aviv reacts vehemently to the turbulent spirit of a troubled time and leads his band through a five-part suite that traverses a whole range of emotions - by turns hopeful, despairing, angry and deeply melancholy.
Because it’s never a bad to listen to some Mal Waldron. This recording is classic Mal along with a great group of Japanese musicians. Available on Tidal
