First of all, I want to thank you for your hard work.
I would like to report a problem I’m experiencing with Roon 1 PC. Unfortunately, after a certain amount of playing time, Roon completely drains one of the CPU cores, resulting in a total load of 19%. The load persists even when I stop playback. After restarting the software, the load returns to the normal value for a while, around 1-2%.
I access the machine using the Windows remote desktop function. Could this be the cause of the problem?
Here are some additional details:
Roon 2.0 (build 1272)
Windows 10 Pro
Analysis: Disabled
Storage: (>4k music albums)
NUC 12 Pro Kit NUC12WSKi5
RAM: 32 GB
M2 SSD: 2TB
Gigabit Ethernet (LAN)
Can I ask why you are accessing the PC using the Windows Remote Desktop? Is this a headless PC? If it is, then I would suggest that you use Roon Server instead of the full Roon package. Roon Server is better suited to this scenario.
Yes, I know the best setup is to use the NUC as a server only, but I don’t have a good player at the moment. The NUC has a display, but browsing is easier on a desktop LCD display.
I will try to see if the problem occurs without using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
