Ive been trying to access codec file for ROCK on windows 10 and an having no success. ROCK os recognized but when I click on it to access files it will not open. Says no network directory. Ive tried multiple combinations of settings changes on my pc that I thought could possibly be impeding my ability to access the shared file.
I have no problem accessing the rock os in my browser with IP address.
I have the needed file unzipped and ready to copy but cannot get access to the folder. Please help!
Microsoft has tightened up security around the use of the SMB protocol used by ROCK. They no longer allow the use of the “guest” user authentication by default. I’m afraid you’re going to have enter the Windows Registry and edit it. See:
My version of windows is the education version. Smb was disabled and I went in and enabled it. Still didnt have any luck. Ended up going into my Att fiber gateway and having to setup the port and device in NAT I believe it was. Been a few days. Thanks for the help got it going now.
