Thanks for reaching out, and congratulations on the new Nucleus. We want to make sure we understand your setup correctly before troubleshooting, since a couple of things in your description aren’t quite adding up on our end.
Could you please clarify:
The iPad itself would only be running the Roon app (Roon Remote) to control your system, not the dCS Rossini directly, so we want to understand how these three pieces (iPad, Nucleus, Rossini) are meant to connect.
When you say there’s no connection, do you mean the Roon app on your iPad never finds or shows the Nucleus at all, or does it find the Nucleus but you’re unable to see or select the dCS Rossini as an audio zone?
Also, could you please describe your home network setup directly here (router make/model, and how the Nucleus is connected, Ethernet or WiFi), since we don’t have anything from a previous conversation to reference?
Vadim: Currently the iPad is running the dCS Rossini and I am connected to Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, local station etc. I downloaded a Roon app on the iPad, plugged in and turned on the Nucleus which is located next to the Rossini. But the Nucleus when I click on the Roon app on the iPad, could not connect to the Rossini—just kept spinning around looking for connection.
I thought the wiring between Roon and Rossini would need some physical link or that the Nucleus would need its own Ethernet connection so I took my iPad to the dealer from whom I have purchased lots of equipment and who said that I didn’t have to wire Rossini and Roon as Roon would pickup signal from Rossini. We opened the iPad and it quickly started picking up Roon from the dealer’s Roon. When I got home and tried the same but no luck.
Rossini is hard wired into Ethernet. The router was installed by my son who is an IT guy at Fox. I could not find info on the large unit as to make and model but have sent him an email requesting info. This is a little frustrating.

I assume at the end of the day if this all works, I can switch between Qobuz and Tidal reasonably effortlessly, find the good versions of music, set up some links to favorites etc. Let me know what more you need and how we can proceed. Jak

Thanks for the detail, that clears things up. We can see what has gone wrong here, and the fix is straightforward.
The Nucleus does need its own Ethernet connection to the router or Ethernet switch. Until it is plugged into your network with an Ethernet cable, nothing can see it, including the Roon app on your iPad. Your original instinct on this was correct.
What happened at the dealer is that your iPad found the dealer’s own Roon Server on their network. It was not connecting to your Nucleus, which is why the same thing did not work once you got home.
Here is how the three pieces fit together:
The Nucleus is your Roon Server. It does all the work, and it needs to be connected to your Ubiquiti router or to a network switch by Ethernet cable.
The iPad runs the Roon app purely as a remote control. It does not need to be wired to anything.
The dCS Rossini is your audio endpoint, and it is already hard-wired, which is exactly right.
There is no direct cable between the Nucleus and the Rossini. They find each other over your network, which is precisely why the Nucleus has to be on that network as well.
