Description of Issue
Just set up a brand new Nucleus Rev B for the first time yesterday. Migrated from a sonicTransporter i5 that I’d been using for the last 3 years. Installation and setup went well and all is running smoothly, except for one glitch.
The Ayre QB-9 Twenty does native DSD decoding up to 256, but Roon is not presenting that option for me in setup. Only DoP and at a max DSD128. I’ve had the QB-9 Twenty for almost 3 years and Roon had a selection for ‘native DSD’ in the setup when running from my sonicTransporter, but it does not appear now that I’ve migrated to the Nucleus. Looking for suggestions.
Hmm… most interesting. Thank you kindly for the explanation. I wonder if there could be any possible recourse or fix for this, perhaps on the Roon software side.
Probably not a high priority in the grand scheme of things considering what’s probably a comparatively small number of us QB-9 Twenty users in Roon world. Still, a bit of a disappointment to find this incompatibility.
It would need patching in the Linux kernel and the Roon Os updated to use the latest kernel. It won’t be up to Roon to do the patching though I don’t think they tinker with this side of things. I would contact Ayre to see if you can get them to.
