Describe the issue

I have a nucleus one. I can get my WDMYCLOUD library in Roon. I've tried it with my windows pc, Mac pc and Iphone. I can entry my Nas with all pc's and and checked my path. It works perfect with sonos and Bluesound. There the libary is added perfectly. Roon says Could not connect to networkshare , host not found. My JRiver on windows 10 pc works also fine. The WD nas is visable in my Deco mesh network and all have a fixed ip. I used before the Nuc One a Mrock and a Macbook as a roon core and there was no problem at all. I've tried everything ( Also SMb 1 etc..) Help....

Doesn’t work , tried already. Gives than “unexpected Error” . I’m out of options. I’ve had no issue at all with a Mrock rooncore or with my macbook as rooncore. Al other systems ( Jriver,Sonos and Bluesound) have no problems with the same network path

Hey @d.rietkerk134,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report, sorry to hear you’re having issues establishing a network share with your Nucleus.

Based on your account information, we’re not currently seeing a Nucleus tied to your account - could you please use the directions found here and send over a set of Nucleus logs to our File Uploader?

With that, can you please log into your WD MyCloud dashboard, navigate to Settings > Network, and ensure SMB 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled?

What happens if you test our using ‘guest’ for username and leave the password blank?

It may also be worth testing out setting a Static IP for the MyCloud device via your router settings.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you! :+1:

Thx for your help benjamin. Wd Mycloud has a static ip and smb 2.0 and 3.0 enabled. I just installed the nucleus one. I’ve tried Guest but doesn’t work. Send the logs with the file uploader

Hi @d.rietkerk134,

Looks like you sent over a set of logs from your Mac, not the Nucleus. Let me know if you’re able to send over a set of Roon Server logs and we’ll take a closer look.

Thank you!

Send the log of the roonserver

Hi @d.rietkerk134,
Can you try sending them again? They didn’t come through.

Send it again

Hey @d.rietkerk134,

It looks like you’ve now sent over a set of Roon mobile logs from your mobile device.

I’m curious - since we’re not seeing your Nucleus tied to your account, and it seems like you may not have access to Nucleus logs, how is the machine connected to your router?

Can you please set up a direct ethernet connetion from your Nucleus to your primary router, bypassing all network gear?

With that, can you also attempt to access the webUI of your Nucleus? Here’s more info:

Thank you!

Its directly connected to the router. The nucleus one works with tidal in my network. So its there.

When i put in the ip adres in my browser i’m in nuclues menu

It’s not a good idea to post your private email address on a public forum (even if it is in an image). I’ve blanked it out for you.

Thank you Geoff

Hi @d.rietkerk134,

Is this storage location wired directly to the main router, or to a mesh node? Where is the PC configured in this topology?

If you connect the storage drive directly to your PC and follow the chkdsk procedure, does this drive’s network availability change?

After connecting the drive directly to your PC via USB:

  1. Type cmd in the search bar in the taskbar
  2. Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  3. Type chkdsk and press Enter

The nucleus one is connected to the main node of my mesh network. I’ve solved the problem by rebooting the main node/router. Now Roon is “connected” to the wdmycloud. Thx for all your support and thx to Geoff for blurring my email😀
