Randomly, the Nucleus server will disconnect and cannot be found by the Roon client software. The only solution I have found is to reboot the Nucleus server. This has been happening quite often since I got the Nucleus.
Describe your network setup

I notice you’re using a VPN and using the iPad as the endpoint for playback.
Assuming you’re on the same network as the Nucleus, what happens if you disable the VPN?
If you’re not on the same network and are using the VPN to access your home network from another, it might be work considering Roon Arc (either via port forwarding or the Tailscale VPN integrated with Roon OS).
Thanks for the quick response. I have posted about this problem a couple of times before and I never have had a response. I am connected to Roon on the same network as the Roon server. Also, I have noticed that when Roon disconnects from this endpoint, it is also disconnected on other devices such as ny iPhone and computer. I think my Nucleus One server is a lemon. I never had this issue with my previous NUC setup.
Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support, and welcome back to the community — we’re happy to have you here!
I noticed that your Nucleus server is currently recognized as a ROCK device. Could you please confirm whether you restored a backup from a ROCK installation, or if you manually installed the ROCK OS on your Nucleus?
Also, could you let us know whether your Windows remote is connected to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi?
According to the latest diagnostic logs, both the Nucleus and your Windows remote disconnected at the same time. While the Nucleus attempted to reestablish the connection, it was unsuccessful. I did not observe any specific error traces at that moment, which could point to a potential network-related issue.
Looking forward to your reply so we can continue troubleshooting this further.
Thanks for that clarification. I believe the ROCK aspect is just the name being transferred over from the backup that was created on ROCK, so that is to be expected.
I activated diagnostics for your Nucleus and I do see some unmanaged crashes in your logging. Can you please navigate to Roon Settings → Library → Clean Up Library and check to see if there are a lot of entries listed there? If there are, can you create a Backup for safekeeping and then run the clean up library function, and let us know if this helps?
I discovered there are 2,275 deleted files. So I backed up the library and then did the clean up library function. I guess we’ll see over time whether that stops the crashes.
