· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
I have a new Nucleus Titan. I placed my library of about 1700 albums on three different external SSD’s formatted to exFAT but the Titan does not recognize the attached drive. I am trying to move the library to the internal 4TB Samsung SSD I recently purchased and installed.
Copying the music tothe internal.drive must be done over the network. Plug the drive into a different PC. Open up that Pcs file manager. Open up a windiw tonthe nucleus drive share. Drag and drop between them.
So I was able to copy it the way described above but the Titan still does not recognize an attached SSD via the USB-C which seems odd. Shouldn’t it recognize attached drives?
It should. But even if it did, you can’t copy from the USB ports on the Titan to the internal storage. The copying has to be over the network. Or, forget about the internal storage and just use external storage. Keep in mind USB C is not hte same as thunderbolt. So are you using USB C as a USB connection or a Thunderbolt connection.
I have tried a Thunderbolt 3 and 4 cable. It is not recognizing any external drive (I have tried 3 different drives) despite multiple reboots, cables…. But I get the sense I need to speak with Roon about this
The Roon Server of the Titan will only recognise internal storage automatically; you must add Watched Folders on external usb-connected drives manually.
Can you post a screenshot of the “Choose music storage folder” screen that you get when you go to > Storage and click the “+ Add folder” button?
Hi @Mtroo,
Thanks for reaching out to the Support team about this issue. @Geoff_Coupe is correct here. Were you able to set up the watched folder with the instructions he linked?
Exactly - so in the example you show, you would click on the Band of Horses folder then the “Select this folder” button to add it as a Watched folder.
However, you wanted to copy files and folders from these drives to your Titan, which you have done using an alternative method, so the above is just to demonstrate how you can access data on USB drives connected to your Titan within Roon.
