· The Nucleus boots up and I can connect to it in the Roon app without issue, but I have a question about configuration/storage/attached devices
Describe the issue
A few days ago, we had a power cut. I should add that all my music devices go through a surge protection device. However, since then my Nucleus will not source the music from my QNAP NAS. Roon showed a connection to the NAS and also to the roon backup, but it would not access any of my music and when I tried to "add the folder" again, it said it was already added. I tried going back to an old backup but although it seemed to find and apply the backup, I was still unable to source my music. I then went back to basics and reset everything on the Nucleus. However, now it appears the Nucleus/roon cannot connect to my NAS at all, whether I use the ip address, (192.168.0.19) or the device name, (//smb:PETERS-TS253D). It keeps displaying "unexpected error". I can connect to my NAS using the Qfinder Pro app and can copy music/ data from it and save elsewhere from my MacBook. I can also still use my old Meridian app to play music through my system, so the problem can't be my NAS? This is driving me mad!
The missing colon is most likely the issue here. If you add the colon, are you able to connect to the NAS? Please note that you’ll also need to input a username/password as well.
My apologies, the screenshot was wrong, but I have tried it with the colon, (many times), and it still doesn’t work. I have also tried with the user name and password too and that doesn’t work either.
To triple-check, have you tried using the IP address of your NAS with your username and password? You’ll likely want to keep your username and password filled in when attempting to setup the network share.
Have you also tried the path: \PETERS-TS253D\Music Library
Try this along with the proper username and password, and let me know if you have any luck
Thank you for your response. The good news is that I have now managed to connect to my Music Library on my QNAP. In fact it needed two \ in front of PETERS-TS253D Music Library, not one and then the username and password, ie “\PETERS-TS253D\Music Library”.
So thank you for your help and please close the thread now.
