If I have the Roon Nucleus with a DAC that has digital volume control and can act like a Pream such as the Matrix Audio Mini-i Pro3 DAC, can I connect that DAC directly to my amp? I would have Nucleus and DAC both connected via Wired Ethernet and I can swap my xlr cables from HT Processor to Matrix when I want to swap from HT use to Music use.
Does this sound like a workable solution? Am I missing something? I was thinking of adding a Preamp that has HT passthrough but that gets really expensive.
Any suggestions?
