Are there others still waiting for the promotional email with the free trial?
Received it at 8:43am here in Adelaide, Australia. Itās now 9:34am
Itās 6pm where Iām at, thatās why I was wondering.
Thanks for the info. Iāve updated my remotes, just waiting for the promo prompt.
@TheRiz , if you go to āServicesā, and click the nugs Login box, you get a prompt to Sign up for 60 days free:
Thanks for this ![]()
Does this 60 days just stop at the end or does your Credit Card start to get billed?
It said it would automatically bill me after the 60 days.
Iām all for more functionality, but another paid service - Is this really what we need. Iām sure some will like the idea.
The cost of living is already insane, and here we are asked again to part with more money to listen to music. I would personally use Youtube for āconcertā recordings.
For me personally, I would much perfer integration with Bandcampā¦
Far more beneficial for music discovery.
Then, donāt subscribe to it. Iām not.
Well thats the obvious strategy.
My point was, prehaps Roon might direct efforts into platforms people actually use. Like Bandcamp!
One has nothing to do with the other. It just gets tiresome everytime Roon does something, someone complains because itās not what they want.
FYI - when I signed in the service defaulted to AAC. sounded really bad. Had to go back to Roon services to adjust to ābest availableā. I like the idea but 24.99! OUCH!
If you look on the Nugs site, you see that the have two subscription plans. The Roon option is hi-res, more expensive one. They have a non-high res subscription for half the price of the high res. You could sign up for that instead. Might make a lot of sense, as many live recordings arenāt good enough to really need high res.
I understand what you are saying, I donāt disagree.
I just donāt understand these decisions, was this a voted feature?
When subscribing to nugs through Roons offer i suppose itās the compressed tier thats on offer:
Official concert audio in MP3/AAC
Edit: No, the 60 days free are for the full rez service!
By paying for the 4K tier i suppose i can enjoy live uptakes in HiRes and āimmersiveāaudio, but miss out on the 4K video experience when using Roon.
Itās not the most obvious way forward for Roon as a SaaS supplier, at least to me.
100%
Bancamp - would have made alot more sense.
