I tried nugs and noticed that many shows do not play. Is it possible that some shows are not accessible in Europe due to geo-blocking?
Can you provide some example that others in Europe can try.
E.g. all shows of David Bowie, Morrissey.
I just played the Intro and Wild Is the Wind on Glastonbury Festival and O Superman from The Phoenix Festival.
Only one release for Morrissey. Playing Suedehead.
I suggest you open a Support request.
From which country did you play? I tried now to play these songs directly on the nugs.net website. It does not work, endless circles but no playback. Other shows, e.g. Portugal the Man do work directly in nugs and also in Roon.
The UK … but I just found this on Springsteen, so this may also apply to other artists.
I’m led to believe that Morrissey’s recent performances have been blocked in many countries because he’s become such a massive bell end!
(Just for the sake of clarity - this is a joke

I opened a ticket at nugs. Like this, nugs does not really make sense for me.

On the nugs artists page they list only 20 artists, so, not only is the choice very limited but very expensive as well considering the limited content.
Sadly, it’s not a joke!

There are 600 or so, I think, maybe more. There are 30,000 live recordings.
If you mean this page, Which artists are included on the app? : nugs Customer Service
they list some examples and at the bottom it says „and many more“.

Nugs has confirmed that there is geo-blocking of some shows in Europe active, in particular the catalogue of Sony and Warner.
Sorry, do you mean the Album catalogues of Sony and Warner, or the Live Shows of nugs?
You mentioned that you could not stream any shows of Bowie earlier, I’m in the Netherlands, and can stream them without issue…
Its about the shows at nugs. Here the quoted answer: “Unfortunately, some of our streaming catalog, from the Sony & Warner Archives - including some videos, are geo-blocked to the select countries.”
Interesting that it works for you. Maybe the “selection” is different for the Netherlands. Bowie does still not play for me.
I’m seeing considerably more. Just under 500 artists in the UK. Still, this is a rather limited line-up, and much of the catalogue is traditional rock.
I think you are based in Germany, therefore I wouldn’t have thought the geo-fencing would be any different to the Netherlands.
I suggest that you request assistance from Roon technical support - they will be able to examine the logs if you provide them with timestamps of when you attempt to play a Bowie album.
