One music folder not showing up in Roon Library (ref#FXKKLG)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Music won’t play or issues with my library

Music won’t play or issues with my library

· Local files won't import or appear

Tell us what's going on

· Windows 11.

I just copied 21 folders containing new music into my Roon Music folder. 20 albums showed up in the library. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about the folder that didn't show up.

It's not in Skipped files
The folder doesn't appear in its parent folder when I navigate by folder in Roon
I tried renaming. I tried deleting and re-adding.
Permissions appear the same as its sibling folders

Does the folder name start with a ‘.’ ?

Roon doesn’t recognise folders starting with a ‘.’ - It took me a while to work out why I couldn’t find … Featuring Norah Jones … !

Hey @RJ_Plummer,

Thanks for writing in! What is the name of the folder specifically? We’ll enable diagnostics and take a closer look.

How many albums are in this particular folder?

Thank you!

The folder is “2025 - The Singles Collection”. It’s parent folder, “Maroon 5” doesn’t show up in folder navigation.

Just the one album in the folder

I had seen that issue also, but it’s not the issue this time. Thanks for responding

Hi @RJ_Plummer,

Thank you! And to confirm, do you have ‘Show hidden tracks and albums’ enabled in your Roon Settings>General?

I do now. Renamed and renamed the folder in case it needed to be rescanned

Remove the folder from the Roon Watched folder(s), copy to somewhere else

GO Settings>Library> Library Maintenance> Clean up library> Clear any deleted files

Copy folder back into watched folder

May work

Didn’t work. No change

I was searching and saw somebody else had had the problem with Maroon 5.

It turns out the Storage settings are automatically set to ignore any folder with “roon” in the name. The suggestion in the other thread is to change the setting from “Roon” to “RoonServer”.

I did that, moved it out of the library, moved it back in and that showed up,as well as “Maroons” by Gerri Allen and 11 other albums that don’t obviously have “roon” in their folder names

Hello @RJ_Plummer

Thanks for the update — this explains the behavior.

Roon was correctly ignoring folders due to the “Ignore folders matching” setting being set to roon, which unintentionally matched folder names like Maroon 5 and Maroons.

Updating this value to something more specific (e.g. RoonServer) and re-adding the folders resolves the issue as expected.

Glad to hear everything is now visible — let us know if anything else comes up!
