One song missing from favorites

Hello there

Forgive me but I don’t think this issue requires to fill the template, unless you insist.

I use Bookmark with a focus on Most Played, sorted by number of Plays. My most played are these:

But one song is missing: Around the world in a tea daze with 122 play counts:

How comes this song is not listed? It used to be also before, don’t know what happened.

Hi @Gigatoaster,

Thank you for your post. Keep in mind the template, while at times arduous, does populate automation related to response notification to expedite troubleshooting. I agree it’s perhaps unnecessary for this post.

Diagnostic logs don’t show the Focus filter failing or rejecting this track, so the possibilities here are twofold:

either:

  1. this track has been inadvertently Banned or de-prioritized beneath another version in your library under Track/Album → (…) → Edit

  2. more likely, bad data has been retained somehow that is breaking the Focus filter with this track. Try:

a) refavoriting the track
b) re-selecting Favorites in this Focus filter
c) deleting and re-adding the bookmark after steps a-b.

Please let us know if that helps.

Hi @connor

I tried your instruction and even deleted a created again my bookmark but I’m still facing the issue, unfortunately.

@Gigatoaster ,

Hi Gigatoaster, Connor and the support crew are out until Monday for a U.S. holiday.

Here’s where that tedious form would have come in handy for additional information.

I’ll take a shot in the dark are you running your Roon Server on a mac? The only clue of any kind I can see is that you appear to be working from an iPad.

Lets start here. Try this first then complete Connor’s last instructions:

Flush Cache

Step 1. Perform a backup and shutdown all endpoints and your server.

Step 2. Delete Roon

Step 3. Reboot

Step 4. Open the “Go menu” located in your Apple menu (Finder) select the drop-down “Go to folder” and then enter each line below in turn in the field to reach a given directory. Once there delete each parent directory that references the name “Roon”.

Example: When performing this action on my Macbook using “~/Library/Saved Application State” it reveals the hidden directory “com.roon.Roon.savedState”. In my example, you would select this directory for deletion.

~/Library/Application Support
~/Library/Saved Application State
/Library/Caches
~/Library/Caches

Step 5. Reinstall Roon

  • When reinstalling you should see a prompt requesting that you Allow “Roon” to find devices on local networks. Select “Allow”

Step 6. Power on your server and endpoints. Reinstall your backup

@Gigatoaster ,

In Connor’s absence and your failed attempt I’m hoping that clearing the cache would address item #2.

Thanks for the instructions. Few remarks, though:

In Library/Application Support, there is no Roon
In Library, there are Roon, RAATServer, RoonGoer, RoonServer. I didn’t touch them.

The song is still not showing in the Favorites.

@Gigatoaster .

I’m throwing in the towel and leaving this one to @Connor along with his earlier response.

No worries, thanks for trying.

Hey @Gigatoaster,

@Singleton suggesting a cache clear is the proper next step in troubleshooting here -

Based on your above reply, it sounds like you weren’t able to give this a try.

  • Exit out of Roon
  • Find and open your Roon database
  • Navigate to /Library/Roon/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs
