· I am pretty frustrated that months later I am still having the same issues. After my MacOS goes to sleep the Roon app can't find the server. I need to restart my computer regularly and log out and back in to make it work and when it does mid playback it skips to the next track. This was I an issue I have been dealing with reaching out to support. All of the previous suggestions have got me no where in getting the App to work correctly . I wish I can get a refund, but since I am stuck with the system please let me know if there are updates to this issue. macOS 26.3.1. Thank you
It is incredibly draining to deal with persistent technical glitches, especially when they disrupt your music and force you into a cycle of rebooting.
This said, it’s important to note that Roon Server was built to, should ideally live on a machine that never sleeps (like a Nucleus, a NUC, or a dedicated Mac Mini). If your daily-driver Mac must sleep, these software issues will, unfortunately, remain a point of friction because Roon is not designed to “pause” its server state during a system hibernate.
The discussion on this thread may point you in the right direction:
Ultimately, you’ll need to download a third-party app that will prevent your mac from sleeping. Many users use the app amphetamine to achieve this:
Thanks for reaching back out. We reviewed a diagnostics report from your Roon Server and found that the main reason your tracks are skipping appears to be a network issue.
Most of the time, the report is showing that network speed is not sufficient, which is important for TIDAL streaming. If this is not affecting your local tracks, and only streaming tracks are skipping, we recommend focusing on network troubleshooting.
You mentioned that you are using both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Please temporarily disable Wi-Fi so Roon stays on Ethernet, which should be faster. Please also make sure any VPN on your Mac is disabled.
