Most of my Qobuz albums are missing in Roon and are not missing in the Qobuz app. It’s been this way for about a week.
Noris,
I did the procedure of logging out of Qobuz, rebooting the machine that Roon Server runs on, and then logging back into Roon. This did not work. Only 6 of my Qobuz albums are now in my Roon library instead of hundreds.
Hi @Robert_Davis1 ,
I split off your post from the main thread as the symptoms you describe here are a bit different than the rest of the thread. We’ve activated diagnostics mode for your account and looking over the logs, it looks like a full qobuz library refresh still hasn’t happened on your account for some reason.
To perform some deeper troubleshooting here, can you first try to create a Backup of your Roon database? Then please try to open up Roon Settings → Library → Clean Up Library and see how many tracks are listed there. If there are only a handful listed there, please try to run the cleanup and see if that kicks off a full Qobuz refresh.
If this still does not kick off a full refresh, you can try to set your current database aside and try to see if a fresh database or restored database has the same behavior. To try this test:
- Create a Backup of your current database
- Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
- Navigate to your Roon Database Location
- Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
- Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
- Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
- Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database by signing into Qobuz before restoring the backup
- Restore Roon backup and see if the issue still remains fixed
Here is the process outlined from a Windows machine:
Hi Norris,
I have automated backups running every 4 days, so I already have roon database backups.
I ran “Clean Up Library” to clean up thousands of files, but there was no effect from this on my library as far as I could see.
I then went to my Qobuz service configuration and noticed that there was a “Sync Library Now” option, so I ran that. Still no noticeable effect.
Since the library cleanup had been run, I then tried logging out of Qobuz (which resulted in no Qobuz albums in my library), rebooting the entire machine, and then logged back into Qobuz. This resulted in the same 6 Qobuz albums being added back into my library as were there previously, but no more.
I stopped at this point because I was unclear about your directions.
Would you like me to now try loading a backup to see what happens with that before I set aside my current install and create a new install? I am a bit hesitant to do a fresh install because I’m not sure what work will need to be done to my clients for them to see this install. Also, my equalization settings will be gone, my live radio history favorites will disappear, and possibly my roon playlists. I’m not sure what else will be effected, but this seems drastic. Especially considering that this issue occurred a month or more ago and then mysteriously resolved itself.
Hi @Robert_Davis1,
Which part of @noris’ direction are you unclear on?
There shouldn’t be any special confuguration needed for the clients to see your server. This is simply a reinstall of Roon’s software in case something has gone wrong with it.
As long as you make the backup in step one none of your settings should be lost.
If you’re happy with how your Roon server is working now and want to close this case we can certainly do that. Just let us know!
Thank you for the clarification regarding what would be restored from a backup. Regarding your last comment about closing the case, I do not want the case closed yet.
Today I proceeded with the instructions given and made sure I had backups made and set aside my current Roon database and installation by renaming with the “_old” suffix. I then proceeded to reinstall the Roon app from the downloads page as directed.
At this point I let the Roon server start and I signed into Qobuz. This appeared to show my entire Qobuz library. That was good to see. Since that appeared to work, I then restored from a Roon Backup that had been made On February 9 by my scheduled automatic backups. I wasn’t sure what date this issue first appeared, but I believe this may have been long enough ago to be before the most recent loss of Qobuz data in my Roon database.
After doing this, my quobuz favorite albums appear to now be in my Roon database and things appear to be functioning correctly. I will continue to monitor the database and report back in a few days to let you know if things continue to appear correct.
Thanks for your help.
Hi @Robert_Davis1.
I’m glad it’s been working so far. We’ll keep an eye out for your update in a few days!
So far so good. Things are still working correctly.
Hi @Robert_Davis1,
That’s great! I’m glad Roon is working as expected now. I’ll mark this thread as solved for you.
